Raised in Napier and now living in Clive with my wife and three children, I began my building career over 10 years ago with a leading Hawke’s Bay construction company. During that time, I gained hands-on experience across a wide range of projects, from home renovations and custom architectural builds to schools, commercial buildings, and high-end residential homes.

My passion has always been renovation work, which led me to join forces with my father-in-law, Peter Hill, renovating homes throughout Hawke’s Bay. Since becoming a qualified builder and Licensed Building Practitioner, we have continued to grow our team, our experience, and our reputation for quality workmanship.

Since 2017, Total Renovations has steadily expanded, working with homeowners across Napier, Hastings, Havelock North, Clive, and the wider Hawke’s Bay region. I’m incredibly grateful to do work I genuinely love, supported by a skilled team that shares the same commitment to delivering thoughtful, high-quality renovations.

Carpenter

Heitia joined the team four years ago after starting his building career as an apprentice with a small local builder. Keen to take on larger projects and continue developing his skills, he quickly became a valued part of the Total Renovations team.

Over the past four years, Heitia has built strong experience across major renovations, bathroom upgrades, landscaping, and general property improvement work. His diligence, practical problem-solving, and quality craftsmanship have made him a real asset across both Total Renovations and Total Property projects.

You’ll often find Heitia working on larger renovation jobs, bathroom projects, landscaping, and property maintenance work throughout Napier, Hastings, Havelock North, and the wider Hawke’s Bay region. Outside of work, Heitia enjoys spending time with his wife and son, gaming, and working on his own home in Napier.

Carpenter / Joiner

Louis began his career as a joiner with a large local company, where he developed a strong foundation in precision, detail, and quality craftsmanship. After several years in joinery, he made the move into carpentry, working on a range of construction sites and broadening his skills across different types of building work.

With his background in joinery, Louis brings an exceptional eye for detail to every project. He is a versatile craftsman who thrives on complex work, combining practical carpentry skills with a thoughtful, detail-focused approach. His workmanship and problem-solving ability make him a valuable part of the Total Renovations and Total Property team.

Outside of work, Louis enjoys heading to the beach, fixing old cars, and helping out his mates.

Carpenter

Matt joined the team in mid-2023 after returning from time overseas, initially helping with flood repair work across Hawke’s Bay. With experience across a range of practical trades and property-related work, he quickly became a valuable part of the Total Renovations and Total Property team.

Since joining us, Matt has worked on both commercial and residential rebuilds, including flood-affected properties on Pakowhai Road, as well as landscaping work for a large new home on Napier Hill. Reliable, hardworking, and willing to take on any task, Matt brings a hands-on attitude and strong work ethic to every project.

Outside of work, Matt spends time working on his own properties in Hastings, riding his motorbike, working on his rotary cars, and fixing and selling vehicles.
